This website is devoted to the parents, teachers and caregivers whose jobs are to nurture children and adolescents through the many pivotal developmental stages and emotional phases that occur from birth through young adulthood and beyond.

There are many ways in which adults can have lasting, positive, growth-oriented influences on the children in their care. In these pages we will both challenge and support you in fulfilling our mission statement, "Take the lead in a child's life." In his work as a psychotherapist, Nachshon Zohari, LCSW, has developed a unique paradigm affirming that life’s most difficult challenges are rooted in the fundamental human desire to feel accepted for who we are and to find meaning in what we do. Not one to be satisfied with surface-level solutions, Nachshon's therapeutic strategy is to identify and work on the root causes of his clients' challenges. He has been privileged to have facilitated the successful implementation of this pathway by literally hundreds of people from extremely diverse backgrounds. Whether working with drug addiction, mental illness, trauma, adolescent issues or more mainstream counseling, Nachshon takes a "whole-life" approach - accounting for all of the variables in a person's past and present.

Most of the unhealthy behaviors we are witnessing in both young children and adolescents - extreme peer-orientation, emotional detachment, hyper-sexualized behaviors, aggression, substance abuse - are attempts to cope with unmitigated feelings of vulnerability and instability. The work of Grow Your Kids is rooted in concepts and practices that address these difficult issues by promoting appropriate parent-child attachments necessary for healthy maturation into adulthood.

The leading developer and interpreter of this paradigm today is Vancouver based developmental psychologist, Dr. Gordon Neufeld. He is a well-known and highly sought-after international speaker as well as the bestselling author of Hold On To Your Kids. Nachshon is part of Dr. Neufeld's training community and has traveled to Vancouver in order to learn under him directly. This training has enriched Nachshon's therapeutic practice tremendously and - regardless of age - has greatly benefitted his clients as well. We are proud to incorporate this unique and powerful model throughout this site.
