Nachshon's Bio

Nachshon ZohariIn the course of his work as a psychotherapist, Nachshon has developed a compassionate style that focuses on personal strengths and innate talents in order to introduce light, life, and health into his clients' lives. His work is based on a foundation that encourages clients to identify and increase what is positive and powerful in their lives in order to open natural pathways out of unhealthy thoughts, circumstances, and behaviors. Nachshon's dynamic and positive manner - combined with his belief that each of us has a vital role to play in the world - has helped many people to work through their challenges and fulfill their unique potential.

Over the past ten years Nachshon has reached a broad spectrum of people in his work specializing in substances abuse, trauma, and mental health issues. He is the Program Administrator for Substance Abuse Treatment for the Denver Department of Human Services. Nachshon is involved with several local initiatives, such as: the Mayor's Office of Drug Strategy, Colorado Drug Endangered Children, and the Denver Collaborative Project. He is especially proud of his work with Baby Steps - an interagency program offering substance abuse interventions and case management services for pregnant women and mothers of substance-exposed newborns. His reputation as a highly effective therapist has earned the respect of his peers who search him out for his deeply insightful clinical guidance.

In July of 2006, Nachshon entered the mentoring and training community of Dr. Gordon Neufeld - having been inspired by his best-selling book, Hold on to Your Kids. Every facet of the book rang true to him as both a therapist and the father of four young children. Nachshon traveled to Vancouver, BC for intensive training to become a facilitator of Dr. Neufeld's method. He is a certified facilitator of Dr. Neufeld's ground-breaking video series, Power to Parent, and plans to complete his training for two additional courses - Making Sense of Adolescence and Bullies: Their Making and Unmaking - within the coming year. Nachshon is excited to offer these video courses to the public and believes they have the power to fundamentally change the way we raise our children and engage in our everyday lives.

Grow Your Kids is the focal point of Nachshon's private work and incorporates the wide variety of teaching and counseling services that Nachshon offers, including: parenting classes; individual, couples and family counseling; substance abuse education; and individual and group clinical supervision.

Nachshon received his MSW from the University of Utah Graduate School of Social Work and is a practicing Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of Colorado. He is the proud and active father of four great kids.
